Kylie Jenner also debuted a new twist on the French manicure for spring with her pink-tipped almond set. "Baby pink, bubble pink, pink tints, pink on pink... pink is in," says Metta Francis, London manicurist and founder of Nails by Mets.
"Sheer pinks with a little more pigment than usual will serve as bases for French manicures, while bubblegum pink and baby pinks will double up as the coloured tip."

Be it the influence of Meghan Markle's home-making or a wider embrace of feminine energy, the coquette trend is coming back in full force for spring. Think bows, ballerina motifs and lots of blush pinks and whites, with a pivot to longer, elegant almond shapes.
"After years of short, natural and squoval nails being popular, an elongated almond shape will be most in-demand for spring," says Francis. "As with all trends, we cycle back and it's time for longer nails, which exemplify the 'soft life' era, to reign."

As a long-time nail artist to the stars – including Selena Gomez, Rachel Zegler and Jennifer Lopez – Tom Bachik knows good nails.
His peachy champagne manicure on Gomez for the Oscars featured a soft shimmering shade that's glamorous yet subtle enough to translate into the everyday. "The grown-up champagne manicure is all about effortless elegance, think soft pink or peachy bases layered with a refined, shimmery champagne sheen," explains Thea Green, founder of Nails.Inc.

Flower power is set to be embraced in our manicures with a touch of realism. "It's not spring without floral nails, but this year we'll see more sculpted and hand-crafted styles, including 3D glass-like flowers and Kawaii-style daisies," says Francis.
"From big, maximalist designs to tiny, sculpted flowers delicately placed on an otherwise minimalistic nail."

Combining the chocolate brown trend and beauty's current cherry obsession, the chocolate cherry manicure has made an unexpected bid for spring. While dark shades are usually the preference for autumn and winter, this luxe hue has been the go-to throughout awards season, including Margaret Qualley at the Critics Choice and Felicity Jones at the BAFTAs, cementing its sought-after status.
"The mocha mousse trend is evolving beyond its soft, creamy roots and taking on richer depths and multidimensional finishes," explains Green. "Expect to see deeper warm espresso and cocoa hues infused with velvety matte textures, glossy mocha glazes, and subtle metallic sheens."

Strawberry shortcake shades are the dessert-inspired manicure to know for spring; nail artists such as Iram Shelton and Jessica Rolfe have been tapping into pink ombre, especially on shorter nails, for a delicious springtime manicure.
