The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Tuesday said it has been consistently challenging the presence of the China Coast Guard (CCG) near Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal.

Commodore Jay Tarriela, PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, said that BRP Cabra and CCG ship with bow number 21612 had an encounter approximately 36.35 nautical miles south of Scarborough Shoal.

Comelec orders Pasay mayoral bet to explain reported racist remarks
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday ordered a Pasay City mayoral bet to explain reported racist remarks made during a campaign activity.
The show cause order issued by Comelec’s Task Force Safe pointed out that incumbent Councilor Editha Manguera was quoted to have said the following:
“Tanggalin na natin ang bumbay para wala nang amoy sibuyas na naiiwan sa Pasay Gen.”
Gov’t employees can work from home, half-day on Holy Wednesday — Palace
Malacañang on Monday issued a memorandum allowing government employees to work from home from 8 a.m. to 12 noonof Holy Wednesday and suspending work in the afternoon.
This was to give them the full opportunity to properly observe Maundy Thursday and Good Friday and to allow time for travel to and from different regions of the country, as stated in Memorandum Circular No. 81.
